Sierra Adoption Services (SAS) is a nonprofit adoption agency with a unique mission. Unlike traditional private adoption agencies, SAS serves those children least likely to be adopted, children with tragic histories of abuse and neglect. The agency is built on the firm belief that no child is "un-adoptable."

Amber, age 15:
Amber is a fun, sweet girl who loves anything High School Musical. She enjoys playing her flute or with her Gameboy and MP3 player. She has an interest in bird watching and would like to learn how to kayak and do stage lighting. Amber is looking for a family who loves and believes in her, enjoys having fun and will respect her. She wants to be an actress or Disney Princess and says she can be very decisive.

Sylvia, age 13:
Sylvia enjoys school and is in the 7th grade, she likes all subjects...even math! She really likes animals, cats, horses, and especially dogs. She wouldn't mind living in either the country or the city. She would like a family with a mom and dad, and perhaps kids around her age. She is very clean and neat and likes helping people. She wants to be a psychologist when she grows up. Words to describe Sylvia include; social, outgoing, fun, easy-going,and active. She likes to try new things, go to new places and is bilingual.

Joseph, age 13:
Joseph is in the 8th grade. He loves animals .. dogs, cats or other animals he can take care of. He would do well in a 4-H family, with lots of animals to love. Joseph is also interested in the SPCA, Animal Rescue or rural living. He is kind, helpful, polite, smart, playful, and affectionate. He is easy to get along with and cares about others. Joseph is waiting for a permanent family who will give him love and attention. He would do best as a youngest or only child. He would prefer a single mom .. or a two parent home with a "really nice dad." His favorite activities are pencil drawing and playing outdoors. He would love for someone to take him dirt bike riding, hunting and fishing. He would like to play the trombone in the school band. His favorite foods are Pizza and Cookie Dough ice cream.

Joey, age 12:
Joey is an affectionate, friendly and fun boy who. He is high functioning and can do many things on his own, with supervision. He gets along well with his peers and has many friends. Joey enjoys playing Power Rangers, Star Wars and Spiderman. He also likes playing basketball, doing artwork, and playing video games. Joey is fond of animals and says he wouldn't mind having a dog, horses or cows (he even mentioned a snake!) Joey's favorite foods are chicken nuggets, strawberries and cereal and says he doesn't like certain vegetables.

Joey is 12 years old now. He is lively, spirited, and engaging. He should be placed with a family which has experience with down syndrome and a lot of structure. He would do best in a home where he is the oldest. We do not recommend that he be placed with younger children.

Dominique, age 17:
Dominique was raised in the Ukraine and came to the United States 3 years ago. She has learned quite a bit of English. She likes new cultural experiences. She attends high school and gets good grades. She is motivated and goal oriented. A career as a fashion designer is her dream. She is outgoing and likes animals. She attends church and would like a Christian family.

Latice, age 10 and Tylique, age 6:
Latice is a sweet and friendly young lady, who enjoys playing basketball and designing clothes. She is an expressive individual and displays it through writing, singing and doing different styles with her hair. Latice is very protective of her younger brother Tylique.

Tylique is an enthusiatic boy. He enjoys riding his bike, coloring and playing video games. Tylique is an outdoors child who enjoys outdoor sports and playing in the park. He also enjoys spending time with his big sister.

Jordan, age 14:
Jordan is a sweet outgoing girl who gets along well with other children. Her favorite things to do are shop at the mall, be outside playing in the park and going on picnics. Jordan's favorite color is green, and she really enjoys spicy foods. She also likes listening to Hip Hop and R&B music that she can sing along to. Jordan is in mainstream school and is doing very well.

September,2007

April: age 5
April is a very energetic and engaging young lady. She enjoys playing dress up and experimenting with different hairstyles. April likes to spend her free time playing outside, watching T.V. and playing games. At home April is know to volunteer around the house with folding clothes and helping in the kitchen. Her favorite foods are Pizza and any Mexican dish.
April just recently started Kindergarten and is working at grade level. She finds it easy making friends and interacting with her peers. She loves reading books and working on painting projects.

August, 2007

Andrew age 6 and Darin age 5:
Andrew and Darin are respectful and outgoing boys who compliment each other well. They both enjoy watching television, playing outside, going to the park, playing games, and competing in sports.

Andrew is in Kindergarten working at grade level with some assistance. He is placed in a mainstream class and enjoys attending school. When Andrew is not in school he enjoys spending time at the Boys & Girls Club. He likes the interaction and fun sport activities.

Darin attends preschool and is doing well. He likes school and says he wants to be involved in extra curricular activities like his brother. Darin likes to give and receive positive praises.

Joey, age 11:

Isaac, age 5:
Isaac is an engaing, kind hearted and helpful individual. He loves being outdoors, playing basketball at the park and spending his free time visiting with family. Isaac is a wonderful helper around the house. He feels that with a little assistance he would be good at helping out with a baby and completing his chores. Isaac enjoys making others feel comfortable and is a delight to be around.

Joseph, age 12:
Joseph is in the 7th grade. He loves dogs. His favorite activities are skateboarding, playing outdoors, riding scooters and jumping on the trampoline. He also enjoys drawing and art. His favorite foods are pizza and cookie dough ice cream. Joseph is kind, helpful, polite, smart, playful, and affectionate and always up to trying something new. He is easy to get along with and is an excellent leader in the classroom.

Victoria, age 16:
Victoria is a talkative; easy going girl who likes school and says math is her favorite subject. She also likes to sing, shop and skateboard. Victoria is an avid reader and enjoys watching movies. At some point, she would like to opportunity to take singing lessons and dance classes. Victoria does not smoke, drink alcohol or take drugs. She describes herself as a person with a good heart, who is open minded and is a good friend. Victoria is looking for parents who will give her the attention she needs; parents who will be positive role models; and parents who will also provide structure and guidance as she gets older.

Jarius:Age 10
Jarius is an outgoing, determined and upbeat young man. He enjoys being outside and engaging in expressive activities. Jarius likes to occupy his free time watching musicals, dancing and playing video games. He states that school is ok and he enjoys the free time he gets participating in sports. While in class Jarius states that math is his favorite subject. Jarius is a friendly well rounded individual. His embracing spirit makes him a joy to be around

Devon:Age 9
Devon is a friendly nine year old boy who is active and very engaging. He enjoys riding his bike, playing video games and swimming. Devon is easily entertained with basketball, action figures and model cars. He loves to discuss animals and draw characters. Devon is a third grader who does very well in his academics.

Maria:
Maria is a very sweet and friendly young woman. She describes herself as "caring, friendly, active, and smart." Maria loves to read all kinds of books and magazines. Her favorite sport is basketball. She is very creative and enjoys drawing, especially animals, and doing various art and craft projects. Her favorite animal is the dolphin, but she loves all animals. Maria looks foward to going to Disneyland someday. Maria likes going to school and earns good grades too. She also has many friends at school. Maria has expressed her great desire to be part of a family with kids her own age.

LaRoysha, age 12:
LaRoysha describes herself as a friendly 12-year-old who likes to shop, draw, play volleyball, swim, and go to the movies. She also enjoys going to parks and fairs. She likes to be outside and meet new people. She loves animals, especially Chihuahua and black lab puppies. LaRoysha is Christian but she hasn't been able to attend church lately. LaRoysha loves school and gets B's and C's. She enjoys her classes but thinks math is difficult. LaRoysha would like to be a cosmetologist and own her own business. LaRoysha would do well in a family with children her age or younger. LaRoysha is eager to help with the younger children. She does chores easily but needs instruction on how to do them.

Maurice, age 10:
Maurice is soft spoken and spends his free time reading. He likes to play football, watch sports and write when he has free time. With such a laid back demeanor Maurice states it is easy for him to make friends.

Maurice is in the fourth grade and working at grade level. He seems to enjoy school and has no problem with completing his work. Maurice states math is not his strong subject but with an assignment that requires reading and writing he is at his best. He enjoys experiencing new foods an will try anything once.

Jennifer, age 11:
Jennifer is a fun loving, energetic young lady. She enjoys playing electronic games such as Game Boy, Playstation and XBox. She likes to dance and sing along with the television and radio. She enjoys eating new foods and desserts. Jennifer states she likes to be around children her age and loves to do girly activities. Jennifer states that school is a fun place to make friends and learn.

Emilee, age 9:
Emilee is a bright friendly girl who loves to sing. She enjoys swimming, reading and playing on the computer. Emilee is in the 4th grade and working at grade level. Her favorite subjects are math, the computer lab and reading. Emilee is out going and will easily engage with new people she meets. She also interacts well with other children.

Steven, age 7:
Steven is a shy and reserved boy who is very creative. He enjoys playing football, baseball, reading and writing stories. Steven also seems to thrive when working with his hands such as building things with blocks or taking things a part and putting them back together. He is in the 2nd grade and working at grade level. His favorite subjects are math, reading and writing.

Jesus (Chewy), age 7:
Chewy is in the second grade. His favorite foods are tacos and burritos. He enjoys outdoor activities such as riding bikes, swimming and playing in the park. He thrives with positive praise and enjoys hugs and kisses.

Emilio, age 5:
Emilio is in kindergarten. Like his big brother he enjoys outdoor activities as well. He also enjoys playing games and watching cartoons like his older brother. Emilio really likes eating salads. Like his older brother, Chewy, he too thrives with positive praise.

Ashley, age 10:
Ashley is definitely the older sister and is the leader of the girls. She is very outgoing and loves to talk. Ashley will be starting 5th grade in the fall. She enjoys arts and crafts and playing soccer.

Tiffany and Victoria, age 9:
Tiffany & Victoria are identical twins. They are a bit shy at first but will easily warm up and are very friendly. Both girls will be starting 5th grade in the fall and require extra support for their academics. Tiffany likes to help around the house with chores. Victoria really likes school. Both girls really like playing games.

Victoria, age 14:
Victoria is an easy going girl who is chatty. She likes to sing, shop and is learning how to skateboard. She enjoys reading and likes to read romance and action type books. She also likes movies especially chick flicks and horror films. Victoria enjoys school, her favorite subject is math and she has no problem completing her homework. At some point, she would enjoy taking singing lessons and also dance classes to learn hip hop. Victoria does not smoke nor does she do drugs or drink alcohol. Victoria describes herself as a person who has a good heart, is open minded and is a good friend (she is able to keep her friend's secrets and will tell her friend when she is messing up). Victoria does want to be adopted and is looking for a family who will give her a lot of attention. She is looking for her new parents to show that they care for her by paying attention to her and by showing an interest in who she is and her activities. She is looking for parents who will be able to provide structure, will be a positive role model and provide positive guidance to her as she matures and enters adulthood.

Jacob, age 12:
Jacob is an open minded twelve year old boy who makes makes friends easily. He gets along with most people, and loves to experience new things. Jacob is an active young man who loves video games. He also likes monopoly, basketball, and football. His favorite subject in school in science, and Jacob particularly loves learning about animals. His passion is reptiles and he would love to have a pet lizard one day. He currently has a pet frog.

Devoshar is a healthy and active African American girl. She loves going to the park. Devoshar is a kindergarten student who is friendly and polite and enjoys her time in school. Help Devoshar find "A Place Called Home."

Lexus is a girl who takes great pride in her appearance and enjoys shopping. She is very verbal and will talk to everyone. She enjoys singing. Lexus is a smart girl who enjoys school.
