Mike Bond
General Assignment Reporter

Mike Bond returns to FOX40 News, bringing 21 years of experience as a broadcast and print journalist.

Mike began his career in 1981 as a reporter for the Sacramento Union, where he worked as a reporter for the daily newspaper for four years. He made his transition into television in 1986 as a general assignment reporter for WKPT in Tri-Cities, Tennessee, for three years.

In 1989, he returned to Sacramento, where he spent 16 years reporting for KTXL FOX40. Taking a short break from KTXL, he worked as a general assignment reporter in the Sacramento area.

During his 18 years of covering Sacramento news, Mike spent six years doubling as a reserve deputy sheriff, working on street patrol and helicopter air operations.

Mike has a Bachelor's degree in journalism from California State University, Sacramento, and is a graduate of the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department training academy.

He is pleased to be back with FOX40 and to be able to use his experience and knowledge of Sacramento to offer viewers his unique perspective on local news.
