Rowena Shaddox
Reporter
Rowena joined the FOX40 News team five years ago. Since then, she has had the pleasure of reporting several exclusive stories for FOX40 that include a two day interview with Jean Garcia prior to the trial of her husband Mario Garcia. Following his conviction in the murder of Christie Wilson, Rowena was able to interview Mario Garcia himself. She also reported on convicted kidnapper/killer Curtis Dean Anderson of Vallejo and most recently a forensic pathologist from Fairfield, who performed the autopsies of Laci and Connor Peterson.
Before making the move to FOX40, Rowena was a newspaper reporter for 11 years with the Fairfield Daily Republic, covering the crime beat. The Society of Professional Journalist and the Associated Press have recognized her writing with first place awards.
Over the years, she has enjoyed an array of colorful assignments from flying in a Police helicopter and an Air Force C-5, to spending time in a homeless encampment, and being the only reporter to ride on the back of a Harley with the Hells Angels.
A native of San Francisco, she earned a Bachelors degree in Communications from the University of San Francisco. Rowena has been married for 23 years and has two daughters. She is also a proud 18-year survivor of thyroid cancer.
