Natalie Bomke
Morning News Anchor
Natalie Bomke joined Fox40 in January 2007 as a Morning News Anchor and Reporter.
Growing up in a rural area just outside the city limits of Springfield, Illinois, Natalie was influenced by traditional Midwestern family values. Her connection to the state capitol also fostered her experience with the rules and agendas of the political arena.
Natalie started her career as a General Assignment Reporter for WICS-TV Newschannel 20 in her hometown, Springfield. She later moved to sister station WICD-TV Newschannel 15 in Champaign, Illinois as the Vermilion County Bureau Chief. At Newschannel 15, Natalie was the first reporter on the scene as police disarmed explosive chemicals and bombs from a storage facility, just miles away from downtown Danville. As a fierce tornado ravaged Central Illinois, Natalie was part of a team relaying live damage reports and eyewitness accounts, while providing support to a community literally left in the dark. As the Illini Men's Basketball team took their best shot at the number one spot in the 2006 NCAA Tournament, Natalie was assembled with fans, waving a hot chicken wing and sporting "live" coverage.
While in Champaign, Natalie volunteered with the D.A.R.E. (Drug and Alcohol Resistance Education) program, speaking to local students about the dangers of drugs and alcohol, while emphasizing the importance of making positive choices.
Whether it's revealing a local hospital's unauthorized disposal of body parts, a small community's acceptance of local Wiccans, an explosive trend in the manufacturing of methamphetamine or an attorney's struggle to prove his death row client is innocent... Natalie has provided intelligent coverage that viewers expect.
For Natalie, becoming a part of the Fox40 News Team is the opportunity of a lifetime. The people, politics and palm trees of the Sacramento area all blend together to make this a dream job in every way. Natalie's goal is to support this capital city and its surrounding communities as they set the standards and proceed to raise the bar, nationally.
Viewers say Natalie's unforgettable smile and firecracker enthusiasm jump-starts their morning and helps wean them away from their morning cup of Joe.
Your day is what you make it. Let Natalie and Fox40 Morning News get you 'started' on your day, every morning.
